FAFSA Student Financial Aid

Bonny Eagle Adult Education FAFSA Night : Free Workshop on Financial Aid

Monday, November 10, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. at Bonny Eagle High School auditorium.

Wondering how to pay for college? Representatives from the Finance Authority of Maine (FAME) will be on hand for a FAFSA info session.

The FAFSA Info Session will begin at 6:00 p.m. and go until 7:30 p.m. This info session will be followed by a FAFSA Completion Lab. The Completion Lab is for students planning to attend college in January, 2015. This is where you will complete and submit the free application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Only those attending the Completion Lab will need to bring certain documents with them:

  • Last year’s Federal Tax Return or other income documentation
  • Social Security number
  • Driver’s license
  • Last year’s W-2 forms or year-end pay stubs and other year-end records of money received
  • Last year’s untaxed income records (Social Security, TANF, welfare, or veterans benefits)
  • Last year’s bank statements
  • Business, mortgage, and investment information
  • Your alien registration card if you are not a U.S. citizen

Although this workshop is FREE, you must pre-register with Bonny Eagle Adult Education.

Please check the local radio and TV stations for our school closing announcements.

We post them on WCSH-Channel 6, WMTW-Channel 8, WGME-Channel 13 and on WGAN 560 AM.  You may get your school closing information by watching the TV channel, listening to the radio or going to the respective station websites.

WCSH, Channel 6 offers the option to receive a text alert of SAD#6 or Bonny Eagle Adult Education closings sent right to your phone. Just go to this link: Follow the set up directions, and if our classes are cancelled, you’ll receive a text message.

You’ll also learn about high-speed Internet connectivity in some of our classes.

The HiSET® Exam is the New High School Equivalency Exam at Bonny Eagle Adult Education

Beginning immediately, the GED will be replaced by the HiSET® exam from the Educational Testing Service (ETS)as the official high school equivalency exam in the State of Maine.

The good news is that during 2014, all official GED test scores will be carried forward and combined with HiSET® exam scores. This means that if you’ve taken and passed some of your official GED tests, your scores remain valid and you won’t have to take the tests over. You can get your diploma by finishing the remaining tests by taking the HiSET® exam.
