A penny rug is a folk art style of decorative appliqué traditionally made from felted wool and dating back to the 1850’s. Primitive shapes are hand sewn onto a wool background using a blanket stitch of contrasted colors. This elegant penny rug uses circles as appliqué, and is a wonderful first project. Kit $30 payable to the instructor the night of class. You only need to bring a smile and a pair of scissors to this class.
